How Amazon orders post to QuickBooks

Amazon is a marketplace — it collects payment from the buyer, handles sales tax as a marketplace facilitator, and pays you out on its own settlement schedule. Because of that, Amazon orders post to QuickBooks as Invoices, not Sales Receipts, with tax on the invoice left at zero (Amazon already collected and remitted it). When a settlement report comes in, TruSync creates a Credit Memo for Amazon’s fees and a Bank Deposit that groups the settled orders net of those fees, ready to match against your bank feed.

There’s no payment method to map for Amazon — Invoices don’t carry one, and fees come entirely from the settlement report rather than from mapping.

FAQ

Why do my Amazon orders show $0 tax in QuickBooks? Amazon collects and remits sales tax on your behalf as a marketplace facilitator. TruSync doesn’t post tax you never actually owed.

Why don’t I see a Sales Receipt for my Amazon orders? Marketplace orders (Amazon, and eBay/Walmart when live) post as Invoices instead, because payment and payout happen on Amazon’s schedule, not at checkout.

How often does TruSync pull settlement reports? TruSync checks for new settlement reports on a regular schedule; a Bank Deposit appears once a report is available and processed.
