QuickBooks connection issues
If TruSync can’t reach your QuickBooks company, you’ll see a QuickBooks reconnection needed banner across the top of your dashboard telling you your connection has expired.
Reconnecting
- Click Reconnect in the banner (or open the QuickBooks Connection panel and click Re-authorize).
- Sign in to Intuit in the popup window that opens.
- Approve the permissions again.
- Close the popup once it redirects — the banner clears automatically.
Reconnecting doesn’t affect anything already synced; it only restores TruSync’s ability to keep syncing going forward. Orders that arrived while the connection was expired become order exceptions and sync once you reconnect.
If reconnecting doesn’t work
- Confirm you’re signing in with an Intuit account that has access to the same QuickBooks company TruSync was originally connected to.
- Make sure your QuickBooks Online subscription is active — an inactive or expired QBO subscription blocks the connection even after you reconnect.
FAQ
Will I lose data if my QuickBooks connection expires? No — nothing already synced is affected, and orders that queue up during the outage sync once you reconnect.
How often does this happen? QuickBooks access tokens expire periodically as a normal part of how Intuit’s OAuth works — it’s not specific to anything going wrong with your account.
What if I connected the wrong QuickBooks company by mistake? Disconnect from the QuickBooks Connection panel, then reconnect and choose the correct company.
