Account & organization
Your TruSync organization is the account-level container that holds your QuickBooks connection, your connected stores, and your settings.
What lives at the organization level
- The QuickBooks Online connection.
- Every store you’ve connected, and their individual sync settings.
- Account, payment method, and tax jurisdiction mappings.
- Billing and plan information.
Multiple stores, one organization
You can connect more than one store to the same TruSync organization — each store keeps its own mapping and sync settings, but they all post into the same QuickBooks company.
Use the store switcher in the header to move between them.
Give a store your own name
A store you connect now starts out named for the platform it comes from, then the name that platform reports — “Amazon - Acme Goods” or “Shopify - Meluka Australia”, for example. That keeps stores from different platforms easy to tell apart. Stores connected earlier keep the name they already have. You may still think of your stores as “Main shop” and “Gift shop”.
You can rename any store. Go to Settings → Sync, and edit Name shown across TruSync at the top. The name you save appears everywhere TruSync shows that store: the store switcher, Connected Stores, alert emails, and Trudy’s answers.
The name the platform uses stays visible underneath as Name on the platform, so you can still tell which storefront a renamed store is. Select Use the platform name to go back to the default, which is the platform and its name together, like “Amazon - Acme Goods”, even for a store connected before that default existed.
Reconnecting a store does not change a name you chose. Reconnecting never renames a store: one you have never renamed keeps following the platform’s name in whatever form it already has.
Renaming needs admin rights on that store, or an owner or admin role in the organization the store belongs to. A plain organization member can’t rename — if the name field is greyed out, ask an owner or admin of the organization. Renaming changes only the label: your connection, mappings, and synced orders are untouched.
People in your organization
You can invite your accountant, bookkeeper, or a colleague into your organization from Settings → Team, as an Admin or a Member. They get their own login instead of sharing yours, and you can revoke access at any time.
Someone can belong to more than one organization — an accountant with several clients, for example. When they do, every store they can reach is labelled with the organization it belongs to.
See Team & access for how invitations work.
FAQ
Can I have more than one QuickBooks company under one TruSync organization? No — one organization connects to one QuickBooks company at a time.
Who can access my TruSync organization? Whoever you’ve invited, plus whoever connected the store or the QuickBooks company. Go to Settings → Team to see the current list, invite someone, or revoke a pending invitation. You don’t need to contact support to change access.
Who can rename a store? A store admin, or an owner or admin of the organization the store belongs to. A plain organization member can’t, so an accountant invited as a member sees the name but can’t change it.
If I reconnect a store, will it go back to the platform’s name? Not if you chose a name — TruSync keeps it and only updates the Name on the platform line. A store you never renamed keeps following the platform’s name, in the form it already has. Reconnecting does not rename it.
Can one person work across several organizations? Yes. Accountants commonly belong to several. They sign in once, and the store switcher lists every store they can reach, grouped by organization.
If I disconnect a store, do its past synced orders disappear from QuickBooks? No — disconnecting only stops future syncing. Transactions already created in QuickBooks stay as they are.
If I disconnect an Amazon, eBay, Walmart or WooCommerce store, is TruSync’s access removed there too? TruSync deletes its copy of your credentials as soon as you disconnect, so it can no longer reach your store. Those four platforms don’t let an app remove its own authorization, so TruSync appears in the platform’s own list of connected apps until you remove it there: Manage Your Apps in Amazon Seller Central, third-party app access in your eBay account settings, API Keys in the Walmart Developer Portal, or WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API in WordPress (choose Revoke API Key). Shopify, Wix and BigCommerce remove it for you when you uninstall.
