How Shopify orders post to QuickBooks
Shopify captures payment at checkout, so orders post to QuickBooks as Sales Receipts. Shopify’s API exposes transaction and payment processing fees directly, and TruSync includes them as line items on the receipt. Shopify pays out daily, and TruSync creates a Bank Deposit from each payout, grouping that period’s Sales Receipts. You’re responsible for sales tax on Shopify orders — TruSync doesn’t file it.
FAQ
Do I need to connect anything besides the Shopify app itself? No — Shopify Payments and other Shopify-native gateways expose fee data directly, so there’s no separate gateway connection to make.
Can I connect more than one Shopify store to the same QuickBooks company? Yes, multiple stores can map to one QuickBooks company.
What if TruSync doesn’t show up after I install it? Make sure you’re searching the Shopify App Store while signed in to the store you want to connect, and that you used the same email as your TruSync account.
